DAAPcamps, Studio Art, Summer 2014, High School
I assisted two DAAP professors, Dr. Kristopher Holland and Noel Anderson, in the development and teaching of a one week full time University Summer HS Camp. Students used the text of a prompted I AM poem to inspire the creation of several artworks including full size multi media 2d Silhouette and prints. Students learned about Aesthetic Theory and I presented on the concept of Critique (see Prezi here). I also led students in a slow looking exercise in which they spent 20 minutes looking at a sculpture followed by a group discussion. Students adapted their learning about Aesthetics and Philosophy to create 3d Boxes of Aesthetic Games. One line from each of our I AM poems was combined into a group Poem and T Shirt by Professor Anderson.
